Film: Miss Peregrine's School for Peculiar Children

The latest Tim Burton flick is a bit Harry Potter meets X-Men and is based (loosely apparently) on a book of the same name. Being a Burton film you expect the movie's look to be weird, and fantastical, and it is. The plot however isn't that great and without giving too much away there's a huge plot hole regarding the powers that the twin characters have that spoiled the story for me. Also the powers that the kids have are pretty cliched, (one can fly, one can create fire etc.)

One the plus side the finale in Blackpool is cool and it's great to see the tower on the big screen. Ex-Bond Girl Eva Green is very good in the role, it's a shame the kid actors aren't.

So I did enjoy it but it's forgettable.
