90 minutes of bad action sequences, awful acting, obvious stunt doubles and wasted cameos tipped off with a dumb epilogue. Frat boys and FHM fans will love it. Vin Diesel looks like a swollen thumb.
That was my Facebook review and a few days later I stand by it.
The film has thumb back from his role in part 1 (Ice Cube took the lead in part 2) in a stupid plot to recapture a satellite controlling device from a terrorist group that are using it to make them crash as a means of assassination, which is suitably over-the-top and suits the film fine.
We have motorbike-come-jetski chases, downhill skiing on dirt, and a bunch of other silly sequences. Throughout all Vin appears in close-up and the camera during the stunt is behind the actor, clearly indicating use of stunt doubles.
Donnie Yuen, who has regained his sight since Star Wars and Tony Jaa are wasted in this film. Donnie does have a good punch up towards the end. Michael Bisping, who took the place of the drop-out Connor MacGregor looks tough but doesn't fight too much and watch in the final scene how much rhythm he lacks.
Deepika Padukone plays a looker, and Nina Dobrev plays a nerd; neither are taxing roles. Ruby Rose plays a sniper, which is a little more interesting but has a scene that rips off the superior "The Losers" film.
It's a film where if you don't say "this is ridiculous" at least once, you're clearly retarded
