My first Prince Charles Cinema event of 2018 was the triple bill of Qatsi films. The first of these is the one I've seen many times and every time I've nodded off watching it. It's not that the film isn't interesting, it's just the Philip Glass soundtrack always puts me under.
For those that aren't aware the Qatsi films are films without plots but that still manage to portray an emotional message. Instead of the narrative we just have imagery that wouldn't look out of place in a National Geographic documentary, from wonderful natural scenery to shots of indigenous people and an incredible use of time lapse photography that makes this entertaining to watch.
Koyanisqaatsi is Hopi for "Unbalanced Life" and that's the message of this film. This one had input from Francis Ford Coppola
